iTV and Mac World

As any true mac addict would, the countdown is not days till Christmas, where another mac addict is receiving the gift of a 2nd 23" Cinema Display, but to Macworld Expo San Francisco, which takes place January 9th thru 12th.

This joyous time of year, where one man, donning blue jeans and a turtle neck will turn up the reality distortion field, and the faithful will clap their hands excitedly.

Of course this leads us to retail, one of Apple's most important innovations of the last 6 years. However the secrecy that is applied to MW is also applied to its staff, we know nothing until the 'We'll be back soon' sticker goes on the store. Weeping and gnashing of teeth follow any phonecall or customer asking 'surely you must know what's comming out.' If only we/they did!

I'm really hyped about the 'iTV' and see it being coupled with a new AirPort Express (802.11 n for the bandwidth) I have a lot of media I'd love to shoot across to the TV from my iLife suite, and can imagine many mac users find themselves longing for the day they could do that.

Well last day at Apple on 'Black Friday.' Christiana Mall is opening at 3:00 AM for a 'Rockin Shopping Eve' so what a way to go out. I've enjoyed my time at Apple for the most part, but what was once considered 'brand' now takes back seat to the almighty US Dollar. Sure, Apple was the fastest retail chain to hit $1bn in revenue, beating out Old Navy, and for to its credit has done a lot right - but the day they hire those with 'sales skills' who doesn't know squat about a Mac over someone who may as well be the next Justin Long - well, that's just sad
